Dinosaur Heart

Previously described as dangerous contemporary, northwestern adventure rock, and stand-up comedy funeral music, Dinosaur Heart is currently a three-piece family band from Portland, Oregon.

Music pendulates from being sweet and pretty to pretty rocking in this dynamic and melodic force that began as K.C. Stimson's guitar and vocal solo project in 2005 and has since filled out with his cousin, Justin Stimson, joining on bass guitar and back-up vocals and brother, Skyler Stimson, on drums. All natives to Portland, these three have been making music together and apart in many projects since the mid-nineties and their history and experience combined create a unique, powerful, and intimate form of lucid sonic communication. Dinosaur Heart's songs speak of getting your toes wet, staying afloat, swimming, and being fully submerged; life, love, happiness, hell, and the rivers and mountains and oceans that lie between.

At present, Dinosaur Heart prepares to record a new album and set off on a tour of the west coast of the U.S.

Other projects the Stimsons are busy with include When the Broken Bow, Nasalrod, Almost Dark, Comfort Zone, Lickity, M.A.R.C., Child P.M., and Marmits.

Influences are not limited to Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, The Cure, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Unwound, Nick Lowe, Hella, and Dilute. And of course Dinosaur Jr. and Heart.
