Dead Men Talking

Dead Men Talking is a rock band from Portland, OR. Formed in 2014, the members are songwriter Corey Distler of The Martyrs and Zinnie for Short, multi-instrumentalist Casey Becker of Project Eldridge, organist/guitarist Paul Hasenberg of Sallie Ford's band and Shores of Oblivion and drummer Max Lilien of The Fourth Wall and Southern Belle. Their first release, a self-titled EP, drew from the classic bands of the 60's and 70's as well as Distler's jazz piano and composition studies at Portland State University. The single "Lord Knows I Don't Care" was described as "an addicting sound wave of a ride" by Girl Underground. After their first national tour the band released a music video for the single "All Into Gold" (watch it here: https://youtu.be/vZA3GAhf45c) about which No Depression wrote “Slick, soulful and tempered with swanky melodies, this track is a stellar sampling of one of indie rock’s more provocatively stylized acts…” This was followed by a second single entitled "A Letter". They have shared the stage with the likes of: Sallie Ford, 1939 Ensemble, Months & Foxy Lemon and are at work on their first full length album to be recorded at Jackpot! Studios (Elliott Smith, Quasi, Built To Spill, Sleater-Kinney, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., The Decemberists, M. Ward) with Engineer David Pollock (Cake, Portugal. The Man, Tango Alpha Tango).
