Taller Younger Brother

Taller Younger Brother is an indie garage-folk band out of Oakland, CA. At it's core is singer-songwriter Kyle Glenn. Filling out the current line-up is collaborators Steven Sarmiento, Riki Newton, and Connor Bennette.

Kyle started TYB as a solo endeavor as he prepared to leave Oakland for an undetermined amount of time to explore the United States. After two months, 15 states, numerous growth opportunities, and with a handful of new songs, Kyle returned to the Bay Area to continue to grow his community, and dive deeper into his music. He quickly reconnected with his old bandmate and engineer, Steve, and through a few happy accidents and dinner parties pulled Riki and Connor into the mix.

TYB serves up crunchy indie rock, that was born of classic rock, raised by the diy sounds of the Pacific Northwest, and tempered in the echoes of punk, metal and emo.

Connection, collaboration and community are the central tenants to TYB, and the band strives to bring all three of them, gale-force, where ever they go. TYB is currently preparing for their Damp Earth tour to the PNW June 2017.
