Described as “a macabre Shangri-Las with a Punk edge”, and an “effortless marriage between Spector pop and vintage punk”, the band’s sweet melodies are embedded with a rough edge, and the lyrics give a perverse wink to the usual 60s-pop themes of boys, love and beach day trips, where passions turn deadly and the boy might never make it out alive from that first date.
