theXplodingboys provide the look and feel of the cure in their prime, with a drive to recreate the album experience in the live medium. they play everything from old-school boys don't cry pop to gut-wrenching wish, disintegration, pornography, and kiss me tracks that will leave you in a pool of your own tears. the band has performed at various locales in portland and seattle including the wonder ballroom, the vampire's masquerade ball, the lovecraft, the crocodile, portland movies in the park, and the highline lounge.

theXplodingboys began in 1999 and have evolved over the years. they craft their own sound with loving, appreciation-laden treatments of some of your favourite songs--including vocal harmonies and full 80s regalia! they regularly perform album tracks and single b-sides that the cure have rarely, if ever, played live, such as like cockatoos, burn, 2 late, babble, the big hand, the lovecats, just one kiss, throw your foot, and halo, to accompany the cure's broad repertoire of diverse, groundbreaking singles and cult favorites.
